Reference Manager Usage

Reference Manager Usage

Authors submitting manuscripts to the Journal of Economic Development and Public Policy (JEDPP) are required to use a reference management software to ensure citation accuracy, consistency, and integrity throughout the manuscript.

Recommended Reference Manager

JEDPP strongly recommends the use of Mendeley (Desktop Version) as the primary reference management tool. Alternatively, authors may use:

  • Mendeley Desktop
  • Zotero
  • EndNote
  • Citavi

Citation Style

All citations and references must follow the APA Style (7th Edition) consistently throughout the manuscript. Mixed citation styles will not be accepted.

Why Use a Reference Manager

  1. Ensures accurate and consistent citation formatting across the entire manuscript.
  2. Prevents missing or mismatched references between in-text citations and the bibliography.
  3. Facilitates easy updating of citation style if required by the editor.
  4. Reduces the risk of unintentional plagiarism through proper source documentation.
  5. Speeds up the revision process during peer review.

Requirements for Submission

  • All in-text citations must be linked to a reference manager
  • Reference list must be auto-generated, not manually typed
  • Minimum 80% of references should be from the last 10 years
  • At least 60% must come from reputable journals (Scopus, WoS, SINTA, or DOAJ indexed)
  • DOI must be included for every cited reference where available
